Reyco: What will happen to a software engineer making defective plans and computer codes causing a loss of life?
Consumers can experience software bugs (computers crashing, cellphone non-stop alarm) even though software quality control is in place.
Software is used in medical equipments, automobiles, rockets with human passengers, airplane navigation, computer aided designs (for buildings, bridges, etc) and others.
In other engineering fields, when an engineer make a loss of life due to negligence, the engineer’s license is removed.

The same consequence of any employee doing defective work…employment termination.
I guess that is why software programs always have disclaimers, to avoid having the programmer take responsibility for the negative effects that may be brought about by the misuse of or errors in the product.Answer by George N
He would be sued for professional neglect.
As would a licensed engineer.
The purpose of the license is not to be used a form of punishment.
