Cheryl: What is it like in Germany?
I have to do a school project on daily life in Germany. I need to know:
-a description of your living situation (developed, developing, or less developed)
-a description of the education, health, housing, nutrition, labour, and rights issues you would face
-a description of the opportunities and challenges you would face in the community in which you live (for example, economic, social, political)
please help. need as soon as possible.

I have relatives living in Hochstadt Germany. It’s just about like living in the United States except health care coverage is better.
this isnt gonna be helpful but i know they eat fries with forks. youll never hear anything a bout a bank robbery because there are police patolling the area with submachine guns and if there ever happens to be a robbery civilians know to get down because all the police officers will do is use their submachines guns and sweep the whole area and if you dont get down youre dead, while the robbers wont have enough time to get down since their busy robbing the area. anyways, i know that if youre not german or from germany, theyll know somehow…..not helpful info =.=Answer by jonemson
I just moved from Germany and I would agree that the situation is similar to the US, BUT just a few thoughts:
*educational (school-) system is almost completely public and tends to be very good
*very good health coverage and health care system (with two pillar insurance-system: partly private, partly statutory health insurance
*since the European union in general tends to be more regulated than the US (in terms of food etc.), to me there seems to be more safety for the consumer
*living in apartments and renting in general is much more common than in the US – its not a sign of low income to be in an apartment
*people still do pay cash (credit cards WAY more uncommon)
*country in general more homogeneous than the US (in terms of background, races etc.), but racism still a problem
*unemployment esp. in the poorer eastern part of Germany huge challenge to people (it is an overall of 6,7% of all Germany, but way higher in certain regions)
by far no exhaustive list, but maybe something to start with…
