Desiree: Does religion give people an excuse to be prejudiced against other people with unorthodox sexualities?
The prejudice is there with or without religion, right? But religion gives prejudiced people an excuse and it gives these people something to hide behind, right? Without religion, these prejudiced people would have to admit that their prejudice is not sourced by their religion but is sourced by something that is inside them like a hidden motive or an “inner demon,” right?

I don’t know of any religion that harbors discrimination but people often do get the wrong idea that it does and use it, like you said, as an excuse to not change their prejudice. The people who do this normally do not know much about their religion though or take it the wrong way. So, it actually does not stem from the religion itself but rather an external source in which they falsely believe that that said religion allows them to be prejudiced against gays when it really does not. As a Christian though, I do believe that homosexuality is wrong.Answer by G C
