demonickiyo: Does a lip piercing hole stay in your lip forever after it closes?
I am planning on getting a lip piercing but i don’t want the hole to be permanent if i decide to take it out. Also, for about how long would my lip hurt if i got the piercing done?

It will only take a day or so to heal, but it apparently hurts for a while after getting it done. Hope I helped!

It will start closing up, although the ‘healing process’ will vary depending on th eperson. My mom had her belly button pierced, and it was ‘full closed’ in about a month I think, and I can’t even tell it was there

Well i had my lip peireced before and for me it took about a hour or two after it stopped hurting. Pain dosnet last that long. And after i Took it out it was closed in about a week or so.

It should close within a month, unless your body heals slowly. Also, it doesn’t leave a noticable scar!

Well, I have a total of sixteen piercings. I have the side of my lip pierced and also a vertical labret which you should totally look into because it is really quite cool! But anywho, it really just depends. For example, there was a time I took it out after only having it for a short period of time and it closed up rather quickly but the hole was still there and with little pain I just pushed the ring back through. The hole will be there for quite a while but if you are okay with a little bit of pain you should be fine taking it out for a bit. Your lip piercing should not hurt really past the first day unless you mess with it and aggravate it. GOOD LUCK! 🙂

no it doesnt leave a scar itll bee there for about a week after you take it out but i will go away. and if your pain tolerent itll take a day to heal and changing it wont hurt at all. even if you do it yourself if you serilize the needle it wont get infected.

okay, it will hurt. and it will heal but when you get older and remove the peircing, there will be a scar left 🙂

My lip hurt for about an hour or two after I got it pierced. However, it was sore and swollen for two weeks.

The hole would not be permanent. When I took my lip ring out for a few hours, it already started closing up and I had to push a labret back in. There was blood and pain and it did become swollen for a few days after that.

Depending on how long you’ve had the piercing, you might get a scar. My friend had her lip pierced for two days and took it out and there was no scar. However, my cousin had her lip pierced for a year and took it out. You couldn’t tell she had her lip pierced until she smiled, because it left a tiny dimple-like hole. The hole would close up but there might be a scar left. Some people are left with nothing, a tiny hole, or their skin might grow over the hole and leave a pimple-like bump. It just depends on the person or how long you’ve had it in.
