Unfinal Rewind: How do I hide a tongue piercing and how was the process like?
I’m 16. I’m thinking of piercing my tongue. Any suggestion on how it feels like? After care stuff and all ? And how to hide it ? This is not my first piercing. I already have a naval piercing. Thanks yeah
Hey thanks for the info. How bad could the lisp go ? /:
If you all know why I wanna hide it and want to pierce it cause I have to go to school, school forbids tongue studs, and I got to hide it from my parents (:

The only way to hide it would be not to talk. It hurts like hell, your tongue swells really bad for like a week, and you have to swish with peroxide. I have broken 3 teeth with mine and that sucks.
DONT DO IT!!!! trust me i regret getting it done…it gave me an infection, and i had to go to the hospital to get it cured n stuff…i would rather wait, till ur at least 17 so you wont stress it out. if u just have to get it done and cant resist, the best way to hide it is to buy packs of gum…then when ur around ur parents or something, then chew a piece, they would never tell…but thts alot of gum u have to go through…lol… when u get it done, it will hurt REALLY bad, and it will be sore. i thought that it got in the way in stuff, because everytime i ate food, i would get stuck onto the peircing, and was just gross…but idk its up to , or risking ur getting an infection, or the consequences from ur parents if they catch u with it…Answer by Jamie
A tongue piercing is one of the hardest to hide. You can’t wear clothes over it, you can’t pull your hair down over it…it’s kinda difficult. If you’re trying to hide it from your parents, when you talk don’t talk quickly, the ball may hit your teeth and it can be heard. When you go to the piercing place, ask them to give you a ball thats not too big or colorful because if its too big, it’ll be harder to close your mouth. And metal balls are dangerous! They can break your teeth, use plastic balls that aren’t large as I said.
It will hurt! They’re piercing through a lot of muscle there! However, it will probably only hurt for the first few hours or the first day, and after that, it’ll only throb a bit. It probably won’t hurt enough that you’ll be crying bloody murder. It does hurt more than the belly button though, I have that as well.
Hold your tongue as steady as possible so that the needle goes straight through. If you move too much, the needle might slant…and you’ll have a crooked tongue ring. Wash your mouth out often. I used Listerine and sometimes water with a LITTLE salt to dull the pain. WASH YOUR MOUTH EVERY TIME YOU EAT! I did it before and after I ate to be safe. There are a lot of germs and bacteria around…you need to be safe.
Once it’s healed, you may want to get a ring with a clear or flesh colored ball, or a retainer for around the house and in school. It keeps the hole open, but makes the piercing almost invisible.
Um…anything else…no extremely hot or cold foods, excessively salty foods may hurt too. In three months I would have had mines for a year, and no infection and I didn’t get caught. But be ready to be on your guard for about two weeks to a month while it heals.
Good Luck with the piercing! I got mine when I was 16 too, and I hid it from my nosy parents for almost a year now by using my retainer.
Answer by goosethere is no way to hide it unless u never feel like talking agian when you take it out it looks like some one just hole punched your tongue Oh and right after you get it done it will be Very swollen for days so my best advice if ur wanting to hide it is DON’T GET IT!Answer by lktodayishot
i got my tongue pierced a couple of days ago.
it is a bit sore its not true that its painless, i mean you are getting a needle through you but not the kind of pain that you cant handle
its kind of impossible to hide after you get it tho my tongue has swollen and because the jewellery is bigger for a couple weeks to cope with the tongue swelling i am speaking with a lisp lol theres no way round that
after it has healed (4-8 weeks) you could use a retainer to hide it yet keep it open ?
after care is basically just using mouthwash after you have eaten to get rid of bacteria and debris in the mouth
why would you get it if you want to hide it though?
