Shelby B: How can I keep dancing now that I am finished with my studio dancing?
I had my dance recital this weekend and it was my senior year. Typically the studio director takes students in high school or under. The director told me she would like for me to teach a class next year at the studio, however; I want to keep dancing myself. Also, the college I will be going to does not have a dance team. What should I do?

That’s easy, seek out opportunities around you to keep dancing. Is there a theatre group locally? Dance studio that teaches your style of dance to kids or adults? What about the YMCA? Get creative. Use Meetup.com. Check out Craig’s List. Get out of the house or dorm and drive around, take a look, go see the opportunities. Don’t get stuck on “what should I do?” You know what you should do. Start thinking strategically. Think “where should I do what it is I love to do?” or “How can I make this happen.” Assume that it will happen, because it will.
Start teaching or choreographing. Its rewarding and fun. Also join a professional association. You can even start training amateurs for competitions if you are qualified. There are many an option!
