AnnabellActress: Credit collection paid in full, how do I notify people in charge of my credit score?
I had a debt of about $ 200. I just paid it in full. I’ve heard that if you do so, you can have that particular issue cleared from your credit history. Does anyone know how to do this? Who do I email to make sure my credit history is cleared of this issue? I’m looking to apply for an auto loan, and want to get this addressed before I apply for a loan. Thanks for your help!

Even paid it is NOT removed just marked paid
Derogatory remarks that are TRUE cannot be removed
You don’t notify them.
First, it cannot be cleared completely from your credit history. Even though you paid eventually, you did not pay on time, which means that the fact that you did not pay on time must stay on your credit report. All that can happen is to have it be changed from being something that was never paid to being something that was paid late.
Second, that does not happen when you notify them yourself or when you e-mail them yourself. It only happens when they are notified by the company that you paid.
If you want to make sure that something happens, you can dispute the item on your credit report, but not by e-mail. You have to do it by regular mail or by telephone or on their website. You have to be specific that you are disputing it because it has been paid in full and is not shown as paid in full. If they think you are disputing it for some other reason, then you won’t accomplish anything. If you just send an e-mail, then nothing happens.
Answer by sarahsmile90You may have paid it, but it will stay on your credit report only it will change to paid off status. This is what “credit history” is, history of how you paid accounts to determine if you are trustworthy.
After seven years you can asked to have that particular account removed from your report.
