hartinbabe: Credit card balance transfer for someone with “slow credit?”?
Hello, my credit score is between 650 and 690 depending upon the company I pull my report from. For years, I have been denied credit cards due to “insufficient credit history.” I was secondary on a furniture credit card a few years ago (since I couldn’t get the card on my own) and after a couple years, paid off the entire balance of $ 4,000. I’ve always paid bills on time and have nothing in collections. A few years ago, I was approved for a Target store credit card, then after making enough payments on time, was approved for a Target Visa with a maximum $ 500 limit. Now, the limit is at $ 1500. The interest rate is INSANE. 29%. I have a balance of $ 1100 I’ve been trying to pay off for a while now. I’d like to transfer the balance to a lower interest card, but I don’t want to start applying all over town to be denied for the same reasons as I’ve been in the past. Any ideas about where to start for someone with “slow credit?” I’ve had car payments for years and have always paid them too.
I actually don’t remember exactly what the balance on the card is from. I know that we’ve only ever charged things like groceries or new tires. We’ve used the card for emergencies only. And we literally have been struggling lately, so we haven’t made unnecessary purchases. Just food and bills.

Credit limits mean NOTHING, Mine are all in excess of $ 25,000 each.
I have NEVER paid one CENT in interest.
I pay them off each month.
Stop your SPENDING!
There isn’t ANYTHING anywhere you HAVE to have except some personal items for hygiene and medications that those stores sell.
I doubt you have a $ 1500 Charmin bill.
Just live your damnedest on the cheap, and PAY as much as you can each month. Even if it means you have to sit on the porch and watch cars go by for entertainment.
If you can get a ZERO or low rate balance transfer, DO IT. and don’t be charging on it either!
You can ask that Visa card to lower your interest rate, 29% is legalized RAPE. If they don’t drop it below 10%, transfer and cut it up.
Answer by stan cI’d have to agree with Tom. Plus the fact that low interest credit cards do not exist anymore. All you need is 1 major credit card. Either start paying $ 110 per month to get rid of that $ 1100.00 or just get a loan for the balance for 12 months.Answer by Ben N
Go with the Advanta Bank
