Jane: What are the pros and cons of getting a clitoral piercing?
I know it’s amazing but what are the downsides? What is your experience? Is it true that it can actually decrease sexual pleasure, or is it sexually stimulating? Is it worth the pain of having it done? Do the pros outweigh the cons?

Painful=yes Decrease sexual pleasure- NO, increases… You can get off just by walking down the stairs.

Depending on what areas of the nerves the piercing goes through, you could potentially lose some sensitivity. Also, if your piercing gets infected, this could have adverse effects on your clitoris’s ability to feel the sensation.
For some women, however, the piercing can enhance sexual pleasure and make the clitoris more sensitive. Talk to your prospective piercer about your concerns.

It will hurt I think. That’s a very sensitive part…..
I think the pros are that it’ll look pretty while you’re in the bathroom and when ur doing “it”, haha.

Cons, well, first of all, it would be kind of embarrassing to have someone poking around down there, it can get infected easily, it can irritate your skin (it’s sensitive down there), you can lose feeling, and overall I think it’s pretty gross.

I am a woman with one, and I absolutely love it. It is extremely fun while it is healing, and after it’s healed, to play with. The pain wasn’t bad. It’s a thin layer of skin that’s pierced, it’s like a pinch and then it’s over, totally worth it in my opinion & yes, I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.

My big sister got it done and said that it takes her longer to climax, but when she does it’s way better than before.
Vertical hood piercing doesn’t hurt at all according to the three people I know who’ve had it done. I got the Christina piercing, and THAT hurt.

There are many different female genital piercings that you can get – I would recommend a vertical hood as it is one of the most common and heals very quickly.
The pros and cons of genital piercings are going to vary dramatically from person to person. Some people get them for sexual reasons, others like the way they look, some women view it as “reclaiming” part of their body, and others just like having a secret piercing! Most women do NOT lose feeling, and for those that do, it typically comes back after removing the jewelry. Complete loss of sensation is very rare.
If you want to do it, go for it! Just make sure to choose a qualified piercer who is experienced in female genital work. Ask questions, look at portfolios, etc. If you feel uncomfortable with the piercer at all, leave! A reputable piercer will treat you in the same manner as a doctor would. Good luck!

I’m pretty sure you might lose feeling in it
That happened to one of my friends…and I’m sure that SUCKS!

I find clitoral piercing really sexy, I mean it’s not like “Whoa, there’s a piercing! *ding*” but it’s hot yeah 🙂

Go for it. There are no cons if you know your piercer, I would research it, don’t listen to the people WHO NEVER HAD ONE DONE giving their “expert” advice on the “pain” involved. Honestly, yes it did pinch, but by the time I was able to say “Oh my G*D!” It was over! And you feel this overwhelming sense of accomplishment and it looks great. Mine healed within a week but of course, they will tell you that it will take 6 or so. But please feel free to ask me any other questions 🙂 Good luck and like I said don’t listen to the inexperienced.
Oh and yes, it does give you much more pleasure and your partner, if he is like mine, loves it because it’s secret and sexy!

Let’s put it this way: I can’t think of any pros.
Do whatever you want, it’s your body, but did you actually expect people to tell you to do that..? I’m sure it’s not a good idea. Go for a belly button ring instead.
Answer by hotpinkrat
I haven’t heard about the losing feeling, I’ve actually heard the opposite! Especially with tight jeans and whatnot.
I have no experience with it unfortunately, I’m too scared to get one 🙂
Oh, the cons would be no sex until it heals properly which is like AGES and I couldn’t do that lol.

I can’t tell you what it felt like the first time because I broke the first rule of piercings and took hydrocodone before my appointment. I can tell you that I looked down at my nipple and experienced mental pain.
