: 4 years of ballet? How far will that get me in flexiblity, strength, and will I be able to do pointe?
I’m sixteen and planning to take ballet through the rest of highschool and college. How far will my skills get, how flexible will I be, and will I be able to do pointe? If I move to a different ballet class (Im from Philly and going to NYC for college) will I still be in the same level?

We have not seen your technique or talent so we can not say how far you will get.

If you have been dancing for 4 years then you should be in a pre pointe class, where you learn pointe work on flat and strengthen your ankles for pointe work.

If you are going to NYC for college, you will be surrounded by tons of great studios that have classes at all levels all times of the day or night. If you are taking graded ballet, you wont find that in NYC. The training is a more professional level, even for recreational dancers. You can even take classes with the likes of the great David Howard. He has open classes at STEPS on Broadway. You should think going down a level from where you are because advanced ballet classes will have dancers from NYCB and ABT in them. If you are at an Intermediate level, then think Advanced Beginner class. If you are at an Advanced Intermediate level then think Intermediate level class. They have pointe classes for beginning pointe students as well.
Ballet is not about flexibility although that is a byproduct. It is all about perfection of movement while engaging your turnout. You will have a lot of classes to choose from at what ever level you are at with some of the best teachers in the world. I am talking open classes. Ballet academies have a cut off of age 18 usually.

after 4 yrs of ballet, i think you will be able to do pointe very nicely and if you practice hard you will be able to do splits and other flexible exercise. If you move to a different ballet class, it will based on how good your skills are . For your skills i haven’t see. So, that i wouldn’t know. Hope this could help you.
