Kassandra: Writing a book on Microsoft, how many pages should there be?
I’m writing a book on Wordpad but planning on moving it over to Microsoft so that it’ll number the pages. But I have no idea how many pages on Microsoft would amount to a whole chapter. I’m thinking about having the chapters at least 15-25 pages. So does anyone know how many Microsoft pages would amount to 15 pages in an actual book? It would be really helpful if anyone knows. Thanks!

As many as you want? 3 words could be a chapter if it’s what you wanted it to be. Don’t force your chapters to become a certain length: they’ll end when they need to end.
It should have at least 75 pages on Microsoft Word. This seems short, but MS Word allows more words per page than a real book does. It’s like 700 on a Microsoft Word page and 250-300 per page in a real book. (I’m assuming that around 50,000 words is the minimum length for a novel.) Hope I helped!
EDIT: I looked at your specific question. 15 pages in a real book would be 3 to 4 pages on Microsoft Word.
Answer by Erini already write on microsoft word, i’m guessing word is what your using. i agree with the first answer that they can be as long or short as you want them to be. personally most of my chapters are maybe 5 pages or something like that but bare in mind you’re writing on A4 in word when actual books tend to be A5 so you can pretty much double the amount of pages if you change it to A5 on word, which is possible.Answer by Herring In A Coat
The general rule is that 250 “size 12 Times New Roman” words = 1 book page. So, you go by word count, not Microsoft pages. Roughly 3,750 words would equal 15 book pages.
