Lloyd S: why is the sound from my home cinema amp not in time with my LCD tv?
My dvd player is connected to my LCD tv via HDMI cable and the audio output from my dvd player is connected directly to my home cinema amp via coaxial cable. It is very annoying to see a slight delay from the sound compared to the tv.

Coaxial is one of the slowest connections you could possibly use. I’d spring for a Fibre optics cable, it is basically sound travelling at the speed of light, so it’s tranfering your digital audio signal at the same speed your digital video is being transered through your HDMI cable.
Monster Cable carries some very nice THX rated cables that do an AWSOME job, and because they’re nitrogen ingected, you don’t have to worry about bending the cable and breaking the delicate fibre optics lines like in the cheep ones.
If this doesn’t fix the problem (which it most definetly should) I’d get in contact with the retailer you purchased the DVD player as it might jsut be considered D.O.A. 🙂
Hope this helps
