Royal Victory: Why is the bride always the last to walk up the aisle?
I was watching a tv show and there was a wedding. When the bride arrived she was told the groom hadn’t arrived and to go around the block again.
Why doesn’t the bride go first and wait for the groom? What’s the reason for it? Is it a tradition and where did it come from?

Save the best for last?
Seriously. She’s the big act, everyone else is the opening act. You don’t end weak.
Answer by MaggieWell I think we go last because is our day to shine walking down the aisle, all eyes on us and I don’t really think it will be nice for the bride to wait for the groom so corny.Answer by Jesmo
Traditionally the Bride comes down the aisle last because shes not only the main attraction and all eyes are destined on her but because traditionally the Bride is given away. In the olden days the bride was sold or married into royalty. Everyone stands to show their appreciation to her and respect the family that is giving their beloved daughter to the other family. She makes her grand entrance for all to see who the lucky man thats been standing there the whole time to recieve her as part of the deal or contract or these days who was fortunate enough to have the honor to wed her. Being the Bride is actually to be said the more important role out of her and the groom because he generally asks her hand in marriage and she must accept. But now it can be the groom or any order! She wears the white to show her purity as a virgin giving her self holy to the groom. This goes back thousands of years and has stuck within the ways of today.
