Why is spam not being deleted from spam folder after one week?

A: Why is spam not being deleted from spam folder after one week?
My spam filter is on and set to delete spam messages once a week. I have messages in there that are 2 weeks old. Why is it not deleting weekly?

You might want to check your Spam settings—-in case it switched back to the default of one month.

Mail page>>options>>mail/more options>>Spam (from the list on the left).
Make sure that setting is checked———AND then you MUST click “save changes” at the top of the page, otherwise it won’t save your setting.
