: Why is gambling immoral and illegal until States run out of money and then revise their laws?
How come for most of history gambling has been illegal in most states except for Nevada, and in the 1970s in New Jersey. But now other states have changed their “moral” views and now gambling is being legalized in more and more states even many that previously claimed gambling has a detrimental effect of society.
Does this prove that money influenced more laws than anything else?

Money does influence laws above any other factor. Why do you think it costs so much to run for office?

Answer by mr.longshot
Government has to suck the money out somewhere.. I really don’t think gamblers will cover a 4 billion dollar a day deffest in the U.S. Ooo.. yes all the gambling everywhere .. causes all kinds of problems.. I don’t even go to Auburn, Wa. any more.. Since the Race Track and the Casino has been put in.. Watch yourself there.. And I was raised in that area..

Welcome to reality. Is this new for you?

Morality also caused the Prohibition laws of the 20’s. What changed the laws back? Immorality??? No – the government figured out that folks were drinking anyway, and that they were missing out on TONS and TONS of tax money.

Two words: Evangelical Christians.

They sit on their high horses trying to tell everyone else what to do, while themselves being the most corrupt, schizophrenic lunatics in the entire country. They’ll tell you to your face how immoral every else in the country is, while at the same time growing tobacco in their backyards, drinking their mint juleps at the horse track, and having secret, gay love affairs with their neighbor’s husband. But if YOU smoke, drink, gamble, or are gay, you’re going to burn in hell.

This country will NEVER get back on top until these azz-pirates are treated like they joke they are, especially in Washington.

Answer by Jonny Hardbaked
Because they can get huge amount of money from gambling. There are no reasons at all except money.
