J.B.: Why is Algebra 2 so difficult and what is the importance of it?
It is practically impossible for me to understand Algebra 2! About half of my classmates have a D or an F.
The school year is ending soon and I’ve understood almost none of the stuff I’ve been taught in the class.

sounds like you have a crappy teacher…
If you’re going into a science or math major in college, you’ll need algebra 2 for classes such as calculus and precalculus. It’s definitely a pain in the ass but you just gotta stick with it because it will follow you most of the way. I remember algebra 2 was such a bitch for me. Just study hard and stay after with the teacher!! Good luck.Answer by Danny
its important because almost everything in theworld uses it in prolem solving…im in precalculas now (four years ahead of algebra 2) and i am still learning things that can be used like how derivatives relate to the real world and area/volumeAnswer by Future Citizen of Forvik
Algebra 2 is a link in the chain to get into calculus. So combined with trigonometry and algebra I, it gives you the logic and mathematical manipulations that are required for calculus.
My personal experience with math in general is that I don’t like it very much. I was in honors classes throughout high school and didn’t learn very much in them. I was delusional enough to think I could earn a degree in Computer Science with my meager math skills. I was very wrong and changed majors after 1 semester in college. The point of my telling you this, is that unless you get a handle on Algebra and Trig., you won’t have a chance to do well in any science major in college. I personally believe now that my brain wasn’t developed enough to really comprehend it at the time. The students that I watched who did do well in it, spent a bunch of time and effort trying to figure it out. Their hard work did pay off, because they graduated in Computer Science and other science majors. However, it would have driven me crazy. Some people get it and others don’t.
