Ichiba: Why does my computer always search for “net”?
hello, i have an eee pc 1005HA with windows xp. everytime i start the computer a program called “guide to new hardware” pops up and says; this guide helps you to install software for “Net”. Then I can choose form:
– install the software autmaticly (recommended)
– install from list of chosen location(advanced)
*please note: the phrases such as the options to choose form might not be the correct phrases because my computers langauge is swedish and I just translated it the best i could.
so first i tried the first option. after searching for “Net” a while, my computer says “couldn’t find Net”
so then, I try the second option, but since i don’t know what the hell “Net” is or Where it is, I was still, not successfull.
so, first my question is: what is “Net”?
and also how do i make my computer find it?

First do you have internet access. If yes you can probably stop this from coming up every time you start your computer. Open menus and find start menu, see if there is a file there.
If the installation fails, there’s a box that says (in English) something like “don’t notify me about this device again”. If you’re connected to the internet check that box since, evidently, you don’t need to set up your “Net” (internet) device. If you aren’t you’re going to have to find the driver for that device and let Windows install it.
