Chocolate: When did professional football players begin to not wear padding in their pants and protective cups?
You rarely see any professional football players with knee pads, thigh pads or protective cups. I find this to be nuts( pun not intended). I don’t think they even wear jock straps anymore.

Have you been in a cave. Hell, high school players don’t even wear cups. Yeah it protects you but it is actually pretty hard to be as agile in them. And they usually do wear thigh pads and or knee pads. They just may not be as big as you think they should be and they may be rounded off so it looks like they arnt wearing them. Im pretty sure if they took a helmet to the thigh or knee they would be seriously hurt.
P.S: People that wear cups these days dont really go for the jock straps anymore. Most wear compression shorts that have a pouch that you can put the cup in.
