I was a lifeguard for 5 years in high school and into college, it was relaxing, easy, it paid well and I got to spend summers outside. Some training is required but it will pay for itself in your first paycheck.

I had a friend that did valet parking for his senior year in high school. I also had another friend that worked at AutoBell which was a car wash place. They had a lot of fun there and got to drive some pretty cool cars. They even got to drive a couple of cop cars! 🙂Answer by Bunny

Any job you feel you would enjoy or are going to get into apply as a gopher or helper just to get your foot in the door it could be anything even if it pays very little it will help you get into the company’s pay role and they will see that you are interested in that field and may help you to be hired before others as they will determine that you may be a good asset to them as you are young trainable and interested.Answer by Kira
Heyy, you could work at the mall in a store as a sales associate There isnt really a lot that i can think of but i do know that some businesses hier at the age of 16.Answer by J
Half-price Books or Barnes and Noble might be good choices. Also, working in a clothing store at the mall. If you’re hot you could walk into Abercrombie and Fitch and act disinterested and be invited to be a male model. (*One of my kids has a friend who did exactly that. He was asked for an interview and he skipped it. They called him back again and asked if he wanted the job. He decided to go and show up, like, whatever…he is still employed there…in college now.)
Are you any good at math? Sylvan Learning Centers will accept math tutors who ARE NOT CERTIFIED teachers. If there is one in your area, walk in and apply.
You say NOT FAST FOOD/GROCERY…have you considered waiting tables? My son was a waiter for 2 years at a chain restaurant…started as a “food runner”–you know the guys who are NOT waiters and bring food to you? He would get a nightly “tip-share” each night he worked. Then he became a waiter when he turned 18. Decent money. Flexible schedule. Some restaurants let you walk in. You walk in and check if they’re busy. Come dressed and ready to work and they might give you a couple of hours during a lunch or dinner rush…that is, if you are already employed there regularly.
Another idea: think of what you might like to do in your later years…perhaps ask a firm if you can file papers or be a gopher in order to just surround yourself in the industry. It doesn’t hurt to ask.
One last thing: in your area, you can find the local Workforce Solutions office and sign up online and fill out a profile. You can get free job search assistance and referrals online. You do not have to be legally “unemployed” to sign up. The service is open to everybody–federal dollars! I’m in Texas, so ours is “Texas Workforce Solutions”. “Click on the “Job Seeker” links.

Answer by roseWork for yourself. Look for opportunities to make money. Example: Is your neighbors lawn full of leaves. Go tell hem you can rake it for a price. Be a little creative and think outside the box.Answer by Robert C
First let me tell you something young man and listen carefully. If you wish for a good job for the long term don’t look to get paid in cash.
Rather, pick a field you can use for real cash once you have the experience. Everyone is looking for money to be their form of payment. Make education and experience your form of payment at first to land the job.
A good job would be working as a solar panel (systems) installer. This job won’t take that long to learn and it pays really good. Another good job is: built in appliance installation Check with the big stores that sell appliances. They’ll have an outside company doing their installations. Any installation type job is a good thing to look at.
Other jobs may take you a little longer say becoming a machinist. If you see the people at the company are jerking you around you can always leave and take that little experience with you to work with their Competition doing the same thing until you feel you are good enough to start getting paid cash for your work.
Look you can set a contract for 1-3 months as a training phase and the company at the end has no obligation to hire you although you would like them to. By that time they’re use to seeing your face around and the relationship has been built.

tehehe. try not to be too picky, coz the job market isnt that good
but some suggestions are
a bookshop
clothing store
restaurant – you could cook or something. or waitress
a general labourer position (not much fun and a bit more demanding with time)
depending on whether you are particularly good at anything, you could tutor. like, if you are good at math, tutor math, or if you can play guitar or speak a language or something then tutor that. there are heaps of sites you can advertise on for free (i wont start listing coz most of the ones i know are australian) or you could stick up flyers at your high school
you could do a paper run/babysit
you could work in a newsagent
a pharmacy. i used to work in a pharmacy, coz it was quite small they let all the sales assistants do the dispensing and stuff with the pills too and i found it very interesting
you know, stuff like that.
construction, its fun (sometimes) and it will keep u all muscle. but its hard work. i like it because its a very nice workout and i get paid for it. i gained 40 ibs of solid muscle just the summer while working in construction. i was making $ 130-$ 275 a week, pays very well for someone still in high school and not many bills to pay
