A civil offense is not a crime. Its a different category. There is civil law and criminal law. Its like violating a contract. That isn’t a crime its a civil offense. Civil law is between two or more private individuals or companies. Criminal law is between the state and the defendant(s). Wrongful dismissal/termination is a civil offense not a crime.
