During hockey season, there is also basketball and football. Which sport do you think is the biggest opponent? Which takes more people away from watching a hockey game?

Football all the way since a lot of people thinks it easy to understand and there are not as many rules as basketball. I prefer football.

Auto Racing. Hockey and Auto Racing are two sports that you just won’t get unless you buy a ticket and go there for the live event. On TV, Hockey and Auto Racing is a little lame in comparison to other sports on TV.

Three thumbs down… Ok, then it must be basketball. Hockey ratings would obviously go up if the players had more tats and folks who paid $ 80 a seat would be forced to listen to the Public Announce System play loud, crappy rap music that doesn’t identify well with them. Yeah, that must be why hockey people go for Basketball games instead.

I don’t why everyone is saying football. Almost every NFL game takes place on Sunday, College on Saturday. That’s just the weekend, plus Monday Night Football. Same with NASCAR which is also just the weekend. Hockey on the other hand is on every night. That makes basketball hockey’s main opponent. Without basketball, hockey would be the only sport Tuesday-Friday.

football but baseball is most popular and i HATE baseball t boring. u wait like 2 minutes to watch them hit for 10 secs and run it to long

Basketball for sure. Often basketball and hockey teams play in the same arena (Toronto Raptors/Leafs) and have similar schedules (82 games each, seasons start and end around the same time). The only thing one has over the other is that basketball generally has higher t.v. ratings than hockey.
