In navigation, spherical geometry is used all the time (great circle routes, for example). For close order navigation (like docking two spacecraft together), plane geometry can be used to help figured out two or three dimensional positionable.
Then you can get in to calculus for figuring out multivariable time and movement under the influences of shifting gravity between large masses (like planets) and how you need to plot your position and make mid course corrections using minimal fuel for maximal effect.
