Wear something smart, but not too smart. I think your parents are right. Think about it, you aren’t going to stay in macdonalds for the rest of your life, but whatever first impression you show them, is what they will pass on to your next employer.
Good luck.

it’s a job interview, always dress nice. jeans may be ok, but only if new and unworn. slacks do make an impression, they say you are mature enough to handle a job. that’s what you need to do, present a good image. good luck.Answer by ChefC
Always wear a suit to any interview no matter what it is.
It is always best to be over dressed rather than under dressed. Unless it is a very casual ‘interview’ in the sense you already have the job thanks to your friend and you are simply just meeting the manager so they can make sure you are not completely stupid. When I was at school (many moons ago) I had an interview for vision express but a friend who worked there had already pretty much secured me the job, so I just popped by to introduce myself in casual wear.
Every interview since I have worn a suit however.
Answer by Setting up SundaysLMAO. It’s McDonalds. They won’t give a f*ck. Just wear what you want as long as it’s not too informal. Go with your parents.Answer by Robyn
Dress smart. It shows that you’re level-headed enough to do the work responsibly. Dress too scruffily, and you’ll come off as lazy and incompetent. No one wants that. So yeah, I’d agree with your parents.Answer by livelife2010
smart plain shirt & trousers
