Koi: What religions put emphasis and power in the individuals?
Many religions seem to tell followers what to do, how to do it, and what not to do. Also in many religions, the theme is to worship a higher power- to do everything for it and in it’s name. To accept it (or submit and fear it) over yourself and over things you hold dear (family, life, possessions, etc).
In my opinion, those aspects are against what nature stands for.
Are there any religions that embrace everything humans are? Are there any that put emphasis and power into the individual instead of into a higher power?

This is what I have learned in my own faith.
We are loved by God and given power through grace to help and heal everyone. But because of sin and selfishness we push those powers behind us and believe we are powerless and hopeless.Answer by Lyle Smith
Unitarian Universalism definitely 🙂
Unitarian Universalists (UUs) believe in complete but responsible freedom of speech, thought, belief, faith, and disposition. They believe that each person is free to search for his or her own personal truth on issues, such as the existence, nature, and meaning of life, deities, creation, and afterlife. UUs can come from any heritage, have any sexual orientation or gender identity, and hold beliefs from a variety of cultures or religions.
Concepts about deity are diverse among UUs. Some believe that there is no god (atheism); others believe in many gods (polytheism). Some believe that God is a metaphor for a transcendent reality. Some believe in a female god (goddess), a passive god (Deism), a Christian god, or a god manifested in nature or the universe (pantheism), as revealed by science. Many UUs reject the idea of deities and instead speak of the “spirit of life” that binds all life on earth. Unitarian Universalists support each person’s search for truth and meaning in concepts of spirituality.

Answer by bindysdogsChristianity does. Christianity embraces everything that humans stand for. Their safety, kindness, consideration of others, giving of themselves. on and on and on….The mission fields are full of missionary’s feeding the poor, doctors out there healing the sick. I think sometimes the Christian faith is looked upon as we have to obey God…no we don’t. We choose to have our lives guided by someone
who will help us to be the best we can be. We do not submit and fear “it” We teach our children that they will always be safe in God’s love, just turn to him for guidance. God puts emphasis on us. We are his people. It’s us he wants to see prosper, grow with love and kindness. He is the one who is betting on us…..I think sometimes folks don’t understand how wonderful our God is. I hope I paragraphed it clearly enough….Answer by chanel
That’s my belief, that we are all responsible for our own empowerment. It starts with you. Nothing outside of ourselves is going to provide that which we can only do for ourselves. Religion teaches the opposite. In saying that I believe that the universal creative energy is what responds to our beliefs, but that power knows no difference between good and evil is just creates accordingly. Thought + conviction = manifestion. Because I don’t believe in a deity, but I believe in this power I tend to think I fit into pantheism more then atheism.
