chichicastinega: What muscles are used when performing a basic ballet plie?
A ballet plie is when when knees are bent while the legs/feet are turned outward. This is usually one of the first movements one learns when taking ballet.

basically it is the calves, the thighs, the butt, and for balance and posture the abs and back.
if you want fancy names for muscles your pretty much s.o.l…
mostly quadriceps
and a little abs to keep your back straght

all the muscles in the legs, the butt, the back, and your arms (if your holding your arms out)
so mostly all of them!
