missa_kaykay: What Latin word for “Love” should I use?
I am getting a tattoo with a cross and the words “Faith, Hope, Love” next to it in Latin. There are a few different words for love meaning different types of love. Which one would you think would be most appropriate? Diligo, amor, or dilectio?

dilectio!!
diligo is a verb form meaning ‘I love, esteem highly’
dilectio is a late Latin noun for ‘love’
amor is the Classical Latin noun for ‘love’
In this context ‘amor’ is best
Answer by Cornflake..amor obviouslyAnswer by Arsenal4eva
i would use amor (or amo (i love)) because i think it sounds better…and it is more ‘latin’Answer by Encolpius
The Latin for the Biblical phrase “Faith, Hope, Love” is “Fides, Spes, Caritas”. It is more usually translated into English as “Faith, Hope, Charity” (“charity” being an old word for “love” in this sense).
