Take: What laptop brand has the most replaceable parts?
I’m looking for a laptop to buy & one criteria I have is that I want most of the parts to be replaceable if I feel like changing some parts a few months after I bought it. I heard of brands like Hp, Dell & Acer but no idea whether the parts are replaceable or not. So what laptop brand has the most replaceable parts?

It’s not so much the brand as it is the particular product line of the brand. The entry level models will have alot of surface mounted components that cant be replaced. On the other hand, as far as laptops go you can only really upgrade the CPU, memory, graphics card (on some specialized models, it must actually be stated that the graphics module is upgradable) and obviously your pcmcia slot where you can add additional functionality. There are a few other components that can be upgraded but these are the main ones. You’ll have to do a bit of research before you buy. Also be aware that the life cycle of a particular product can be limited and therefore after a certain amount of time you will pay a premium for manufacturer specific parts as they will be rare and therefore very expensive.Answer by PhuKi
If you want replaceable parts, I recommend Dell. In most of their recent laptops, you can upgrade HDD, RAM, and Optical Drive. However, they also let you upgrade/replace the Screen, Keyboard, and CPU, which other laptop companies sometimes don’t allow or make it very difficult.
Their support is great too. They also provide service manuals for all of the PCs – whether in Physical Book form or html form straight from the Website. They also sell replacement/refurbished parts when available.
For Example:

Most GPU chips cannot be upgraded, and Dell is no exception; that’s just how laptops today are made. Sorry =[

I think Dell Laptops are those having most replaceable parts than any other laptop brands. I am using DELL INSPIRION 1525 CORE 2 DUO.
