What kind of plastic is commonly used for translucent pony beads?

Grover: What kind of plastic is commonly used for translucent pony beads?
I would like to know what kind of plastic is used for clear pony beads. My concerns are with how safe this kind of plastic is to melt. I do not want to end up in a hospital doing an art project.

they wouldn’t the safest thing to melt but you would want to take some cautions. they can produce noxious gas when melted. I couldn’t find anythig online about the type of plastic they are made from.
