Katie: What kind of makeup would look good on pale skin Asians with black hair?
My friend has introduced me to makeup and lately, I’ve been wanting to try out new colors and maybe change up my look. I’m an Asian girl with black hair and have pale skin. Do you have any suggestions when it comes to makeup for eyes, lips, face, etc? What brand of makeup do you use? Is it of good quality and long lasting?
Which is better kohl eyeliner, liquid eyeliner or gel eyeliner? Which one is long lasting? How about eyebrow pencils? Any suggestions?

my top brands:
-MAC*
-NYX*
-Urban decay*
-Too faced*
-Maybelline
-Loreal*
-Lancome*
-Clinique
-Covergirl
The starred ones are the best brands of the bunch. some are expensive while others are drugstore brands. depends on what works for you.
Different eyeliners are used for different purposes.
Kohl is for the waterline (the inside pinkish part of your eye). It is meant to contain more wax to stay on. It doesn’t work for me though since I wear contacts and i tend to water a lot. I tried one by rimmel, sucks @ss
Liquid line-NEVER PUT IN YOUR WATERLINE!!!!!! since you’re a beginner, just don’t put it under your eyes. period. I like it on the upper lash line and it makes your makeup more dramatic. don’t recommond on a natural look. I REALLY like the loreal telescopic precision liner
gel eyeliner is by far my favorite. you can use it in your waterline, its long lasting, easy to use and correct if you make a mistake, and looks good like a liquid liner but its more natural. I like the mac fluid line and the maybelline eye studio
Eye brow pencils are waxy and meant to define your eyebrows. For a natural look, apply with a light hand. I recommend one from clinique or NYX
since you’re pale, i suggest bb cream for your face makeup. its easy to apply and has a natural finish. i personally would love it if it came in a tanner color that doesn’t make my oily skin oilier. hope i helped!
Answer by ChocoMonkeyHere’s my suggestion of an everyday look for you:
Face – since you’re just getting used to makeup, start off with something light like a tinted moisturizer (try Laura Mercier) or a mineral powder (try Bare Minerals). Also, some bronzer or blush would be fine.
Eyes – if you are experimenting with eyeshadow than Urban Decay’s Naked Palette is a good start. It has really great colors for an everyday neutral look. Try not to use so much eyeliner…especially on your waterline.
Lips – lip gloss is always good for an everyday look. If you want to wear lip stick make sure that it’s not too dark of a color, especially since you have black hair. Revlon Lip Butters are a really good mix between lip stick/lip gloss so you should give those a try.
Just remember: play up your eyes OR play up your lips. NEVER make both dramatic (unless you’re going for that clown look)
