There is a criminal history check but what kinds of arrests will prevent someone from getting hired? Only felony charges or incidents with minors? Anyone passed this step with something on their record?

Pretty much any infraction could do you in. Try and get a copy of the local hiring policy guidelines. It should be spelled out there.

It would depend.. how recent was the infraction, felony or misdemeanor? Involving children, or geriatrics? Abuse? Recent DUI? Repetitive offenses?
The best position is to be completely Honest at the initial contact with the employer.
