twinkle: What jobs can one get with an associates in computer science?
I have an arts degree but I want to do associates in computer and information technology as my degree is not recognized in US. Please tell me whether it would help me get a job later? What kind of jobs can one get with that. Would it be better to do associates in accounting or computers?

Your job opportunities would probably be limited with just an A.A. or A.S., etc. You should work towards your BA or BS and then your MA or MS. The more education you get the more doors that will open.
I’m a network engineer with 30 years of experience. A lot of people ask this question. The cold hard truth is, the computer industry is experience driven. not degree driven. The best thing for you to do is get your hands dirty with some real world experience.
Technology changes very very fast. So fast that schools can’t keep up, and in the technology field you can expect to need 80 to 160 hours of specialized training every year, and that training will come 8 hours a day for 2 to 4 weeks, not one class every three days for two years.
When you go in to interview for any of these positions, they are going to have you take a real world test. They will hand you the hardware/software and give you a task to perform. The problem with schools is they work on theory, and outdated information. When you apply for a job, it is the results of your testing that will get, or keep you from getting that job, not your degree.
