AI: What is the equivalent initiation rite of Baptism in Judaism?
Hi, I need to write a speech on initiation in the Catholic Church compared to Judaism. What is the initiation ceremony in Judaism when entering the faith?
And what about the meaning to it?

The closest you’ll get is a bar mitzvahs and a bat mitzvah. These are the two analogous ceremonies for “coming of age” in the Jewish tradition. It’s not identical to a baptism, but bar/bat mitzvahs recognize each gender entering adulthood w/in the Jewish faith.
Circumcision isn’t the best comparison because it excludes females.
The Bris, or circumcision.
Orthodox Judaism pretty routinely excludes females from most aspects of formal worship.Answer by No Magpie Without Chance

Here’s two Bible verses…
Colossians 2:11 In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of flesh in the circumcision of Christ;
Galatians 2: 11 -12 But when Cephas came to Antioch I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned. For before certain men came from James, he ate with the Gentiles; but when they came he drew back and separated himself, fearing the circumcision party.Answer by Kevin7
