Zanzibar: What is the difference between sister/sister relationships and brother/sister relationships?
I have a sister, so I know what that’s about. We’re two years apart in age, and we fought a LOT as kids, but we are good friends now. I have a son and a daughter, and I want them to be close as adults, too, but I wonder if the brother/sister relationship isn’t as close as sister/sister relationships tend to be. What are your thoughts? Do you have a brother or sister you are especially close to? Thanks.

I’m two years apart from my sister! We fight a lot but we’re also pretty close. I know a lot of people who have brothers, though, and I’m kinda jealous because often they are really close too. There isn’t as much competition because it’s universally accepted that boys and girls are very different. Plus, brothers and sisters can learn stuff from each other and come to each other for advice about the opposite sex. If you’ve ever been really close with a guy friend then you’d know that brothers and sisters have the potential to be close.
Sisters are closer. I have a brother and we fight constantly. We have cousins 15 and 18 (girls) and they almost never fight. They’re like best friends. I’m so jealous cause I wish me and my brother were like that, but I guess everyone wishes they had a different sibling…I’m 12 and my brother is 9Answer by ‘*Melissa*’
Every sibling relationships are different. Sister/sister relationship is much closer. I have a sis and we can tell each other everything.
brother/sister is more different. My friend has a big brother and he is protective of her, whenever a guy comes and (for example) hugs her, he gives him his famous “death glare”.
I asked my friend about her bro, she says he’s just doing his job,….. which is protecting her
