A few friends and I are planning a vacation to London, and I was wondering which is the best hotel to stay at. Price doesn’t really matter, and we’re looking for something more upscale and fancy.

Sheraton, Ritz or the Four Seasons Personally I would prefer the Ritz it is so nice

My hubby and I went to London in Sept 2005 and we stayed at a lovely B&B in Belgravia called Cartref House.

Derek and Sharon were fabulous hosts and served the most scrumptious full English breakfasts every morning. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The prices were not terribly stiff, either, especially considering you’re within walking distance of Victoria Station and Buckingham Palace.

One word of warning, though – if you have difficulty climbing narrow, steep stairs this may not be the place for you.

The Ritz all the way! Fancy fancy fancy, it is in Mayfair just a few blocks from Bond Street and Old Bond Street which have all the most expensive stores in London. I have never had the pleasure of actually staying there but my ex-boyfriend lived right down the street and I walked by it almost daily. Check it out on their website:

It also depends on wher you want to stay and what value for money you want from your stay. You may be staying in the best hotel, but it may not be the best value for you.

In addition to what’s been listed, I’ve also heard good things about the Savoy.

Check www.hilton.co.uk website, they have a lovely hotel in Rotherhithe, in one of the suburbs in South East London. If you want to stay in Central London, they have plenty to choose from. Hilton Hyde Park is a fine option.
