Aylune: What is the average motel room cost in the US?
I’m curious about traveling the United States a bit this break between spring and fall semester. Just the standard one person crap motel room. How much do they generally charge per night, that you are aware of? (thinking of states such as Pennsylvania, Ohio, Iowa area)

A crap motel will run anywhere between 30 to 80 dollars most places, especially the places you are considering.
The price depends on how close you’re going to be to any metropolitan area. Let’s say you’re staying in or around Columbus, OH. An average room is going to run you under a hundred, but probably over 70. The closer you get to larger areas the more it’s going to run.
I’d suggest staying a few miles out of larger cities and then driving in to see any kind of sights.
