Do you have to book a room online to stay at Motel 6?

Dr. D: Do you have to book a room online to stay at Motel 6?
Or for any motel?
My family is planning on going on a trip, 5 of us, and we only need a place to sleep and we’ll be gone the next morning.
Do we need to book ahead of time online or can we just walk in and ask for a room?

You do not need a reservation, but without one you are taking a chance that the hotel may be full and you will have to look around.
