What is staff accommodation like on Hamilton Island?

Jodie K: What is staff accommodation like on Hamilton Island?
Our family of three are looking to move to Hamilton Island for work, however we have no idea what the staff accommodation is like. What do we need to bring up with us? How much are we likely to pay in rent? Are there any perks we might get? Anything we need to know?

I went to Hamilton Island a few years ago – we stayed at the Reef View hotel is was beautiful. The island is great, there are no cars and everyone drives golf buggies around. Some cool things we did were we went on a snorkeling trip with Fantasea cruises, it was about $ 100 for the day but it included everything – food, snorkelling gear and it took you to the great barrier reef and back. Also we did another cruise that took us to Whitehaven beach – its one of the top 10 beaches in the world a must see!!! We did parasailing, which was at the main beach also. Found hamilton to be a bit pricy on food and drinks as it was an island….. Have fun!!
