What is it called when a guy has trouble getting an orgasm and ejaculating?

KAY: What is it called when a guy has trouble getting an orgasm and ejaculating?
My fiance has no trouble getting excited and getting erect or staying erect, but he has problems getting an orgasm. Can someone explain to me what kind of medical problem this may be if any. Is there a specific name doctors call it.
And no, he’s not on any medication and he’s a pretty happy person overall.

generally called “male sexual dysfunction” is he on any anti-depression meds? lots of those can cause it.

It’s an erectile dysfunction. The cause could be physical… for example… a nervious system defect caused by a spinal misalignment… or psychological … for example, performance anxiety… there’s a huge list.

See a doctor is the most appropriate response.

You might want to consider that it might not be a medical problem, he could just not be that into it. Maybe he is distracted or worried about something.

There are lots of reasons for this. Most I have experience with. Maybe he feels too small or is nervous about something else. Try sex in a hot tub. Sometimes the warmer water helps the blood flow. Otherwise try keeping his underwear on until just before intercourse. That helps get rid of the “naked” fear. Or, try reasuring him that he is good at sex and is the perfect size for you. Do things to ease his anxiety about it. Sometimes men have a performance anxiety. Do things to make him comfortable. Another thing you can do is try his favorite position. When I feel like I’m “losing it” I have her turn around so she is facing away from me. Or I go from behind. If all else fails, have him get a physical. There could be some medical reason for this too. Good luck.

It’s called anorgasmia, and also delayed ejaculation, retarded ejaculation, and some other not-so-fun sounding things.

A frequent cause of anorgasmia (inability to reach orgasm in intercourse) in younger males is an atypical masturbatory style, particularly lying face down (prone) while masturbating. This is a troublesome condition called Traumatic Masturbatory Syndrome, or TMS. More information about TMS and how it can be overcome is available at HealthyStrokes.com.

Even if he doesn’t masturbate in the prone position, frequent masturbation can often present difficulties when one is trying to be sexually active. I would advise him to abstain from masturbating for 5-7 days before your next sexual encounter and see if it makes a difference. Once he is accustomed to having orgasms in intercourse, he can cut the abstention period.
