Christianity has been waging a relentless war against science and all knowledge that does not conform to their “divine truth” for the last 2,000 years.
Christian rule suppressed all secular knowledge and criminalized the pursuit of scientific knowledge for almost 1,500 years of Western European history. It is called the Dark Ages and you can easily find information on that period.

“Catholics invented the whole damn thing?”
Do you mean the same Catholics who did not forgive Galileo until 1992?
Now that’s funny. I don’t care who you are.

islam played a very key role in science….their are many scientific facts in holy quran…….one of them is big bang theory…….in surah anbiya ayat no.30 it is written “Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were of one piece, then We parted them” ….
allah tells us in holy quran about the solar system in Sura Al-Rad (13:2)
“Allah it is Who raised up the heavens without visible supports, then mounted the Throne, and compelled the sun and the moon to be of service, each runneth unto an appointed term; He ordereth the course; He detaileth the revelations, that haply ye may be certain of the meeting with your Lord”
Another truth revealed in the Qur’an is the expansion of the universe that was discovered in the late 1920s. Hubble’s discovery of the red shift in the spectrum of starlight is revealed in the Qur’an as: It is We Who have built the universe with (Our creative) power, and, verily, it is We Who are steadily expanding it. (Surat adh-Dhariyat: 47)
Answer by SlickMany Western religions served to pull people together and enable them to resist barbarians that continually threatened civilizations. Tracing modern science back through the thousands of years places most innovation within the most religious Western nations, most notably where Christianity flourished. Practically nothing of importance by comparison to the sum came out of religions at war with Christians and Jews. While it is true some few science events were retarded by such as Muslims and the Catholic Church, Western communities overall enjoyed long-held freedoms to experiment in science concepts, and still do. Wherever religion is suppressed or forced, as in Indonesia and the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, scientific innovation is virtually absent or stolen/coerced (do it or die).Answer by Nowpower
You don’t get to order up an essay. But here’s a contribution:
In 1926, Scopes vs. The State of Tennessee, known informally as the Scopes Monkey Trial, was an American legal case that tested the Butler Act which made it unlawful “to teach any theory that denies the story of the Divine Creation of man as taught in the Bible, and to teach instead that man has descended from a lower order of animals” in any Tennessee state-funded school and university.
