I need a gift for a male that is starting to college in January. He will be commuting so gifts for a dorm room won’t work.

How about a gas card, or prepaid Dunkin Donuts card, or a car filing system and / or portable desk. How about travel mugs & a cooler full of snacks?

see if you can get him some kind of gift card for gas at a gas station near by. that would really come in handy considering he is communiting back and forth.

Luggage.

Most people that age, unless raised in a very cosmopolitan family, travel with duffle bags and plastic/paper store sacks. They almost always can use decent luggage.

Trust me, he will love you for it.

i like the gas card idea. also, most colleges and universities have a college debit card that functions as their school id. the debit aspect can be used on campus for food, supplies, books, and usually at some surrounding stores and restaurants. maybe you could add money to his college debit card. this can usually be done at the university or on line.

Give them a car adapter where they can play their ipod in the car. Its a cool gift.
