What fees do you have to pay to break into the entertainment industry? (acting, singing, etc) how long does it take to become an actor, if you are considered by an agent.

You shouldn’t have to pay anything except maybe for things needed to find an agent.

Acting:
head shots
classes

Modeling:
Head shots
classes aren’t really required

Singing:
maybe recording a demo CD

after you sign with an agency, it could take anywhere from a day to a few months to start acting/modeling/singing.

many casting directors know what type of person they are looking for. at first, no one may be looking for your type. After a while you will probably get an audition. you can still go to an audition and casting directors may change their mind about what they are looking for.

you generally have to pay small nominal fees to extra casting agencies, usually $ 20-$ 50.

if you get a union job you have to pay an initiation fee of about $ 2,500 one payment

You generally have to pay to get your headshots done, usualy about $ 200 including copies

All an agent can do is get you an audition, you hve to pass it.

Becoming an actor is not that hard making a living wage is very hard 95% of union is unemployed and 90% makes under $ 5,000 a year
