slappyjk: Why does the entertainment industry glorify the negative aspects of the ghetto?
Constantly, the entertainment industry, worships and glorifies all of the negative aspects of the ghetto- crime, gangsters, rap, poor grammar, drug culture and promiscuity.
MTV gives center stage to talentless gangsters who can’t sing, have no talent as if they are worthy of respect.
Why is the sub-culture attractive to the communists in Hollywood, is it simply a means to undermine our society?

It’s capitalism. Supply and demand. It’s what the people want and businesses are more than entitled to give it to them.
Or do conservatives not believe in capitalism anymore?
Answer by E Dto make fools think that it’s cool to live amid squallor, violence, and drugs. the theory is to make the slaves “happy” to be down trodden. Of course, then they could always blame those “rich republicans” for their troubles. Thus they created a perpetual base of support for the dems.Answer by Hugh Ouancaires

Answer by timetravlerSame reason, I guess that they glorify sex without marriage, gay lifestyle, having babies without a dad or mom, and the need to have has much wealth as possible. Communists in hollywood? Maybe capitaists. You show your true face by the question. Why do they have westerns that show only black people as followers instead of leaders. Why is country music, nascar and hockey all white? Answer those questions. Racism is alive and well in the good ole USA, a country I am ashamed of, I truly am, and I have fought for her and lost much for her including my health, but now I am ashamed of her and the people that have so much hate inside them, for racism is truly the scourge of this country and why we can not really say everyone is truly free. If you cant see that, you cant understand the culture of the inner city. What makes the inner city. It is racism, plain and simple. Take a history lesson and learn that fact, then you will maybe see why the stories that are truthful and the musicians that are talking about their experiences are resonating with their audience much like a country music singer is popular in Waco, Texas….OMG people, trust yourselves to think and lets end the bigotry that will destroy us.Answer by con man

Did I fall into a time warp? When did MTV start giving center stage to people who claim to be musicians again?
The entertainement industry isn’t trying to glorify the ghetto. They want to make everyone aware of the realities that millions of Americans have to live through. If that’s too much for you, turn off your TV, stay out of the theater, and continue to live in your fantasy world of the 1950’s ideal of the American family.

Because the POLLS they take REVEAL that these “poor people” are the ones SPENDING ALL OF THEIR MONEY ON THE CRAP THEY SELL.
Instead of these “poor people” saving their money and maybe actually saving enough money for a down payment on a home, they are SPENDING, SPENDING, SPENDING like a bunch of crazy congressmen.
If Hollywood started making movies about the DOWN SIDE of being “cool” & “hip”, they wouldn’t last one month.
Answer by monicatrippHollywood is attracted to anything negative, anything that can undermine our society.
Its impossible to understand why liberals love all the negative aspects of the ghetto but they do, they love to portray gangsters as heroes and stars.

Why is Wally-World making more money than they can ever spend? Because they sell cheap garbage to people who don’t have enough money to buy “the good stuff” (as if that even exists any more). MTV will promote anything that makes them money, no matter if it’s quality or not. The same thing for Hollywood. And everyone out there is flocking to the theaters, and watching MTV to see how far they’ll take it this time. The stuff that shocked us 10 years ago is rated G now. It used to be that soaps were trashy, filled with people cheating on each other and the whole ball of wax. Now they’re taking soaps out one by one, with the oldest soap in history going under the axe by the end of next week. Why? ‘Cause they don’t make money any more. Only a little over a million people watch soaps now, and that’s not enough to keep the suds flowing. Instead, they’re replacing things with game shows, and reality TV. Why? ‘Cause it’s cheaper and gets the sponsors more bang for their buck. And we all flock to the feeding trough, attracted by the new fodder they’ve thrown out. If we buy it, they’ll continue to sell it. Having lived in Chicago during the late 60’s, I didn’t see anything glorious about living there (lived only a few blocks from the Cook County Courthouse). It was scary, and I’m so glad my parents had the means of getting me out of there before I got into high school. I don’t know why anyone would want to glorify that kind of life through song. All I can see it doing is promoting our youth to follow in their footsteps. While I understand the concept of street music, those who’ve made money off of it have moved on, no longer living like those they’ve left behind. Of course, I’m not an expert on this matter, just lending my two cents to your question. Personally, I like music that lifts me up, makes me glad I’m alive, and has lyrics that you wouldn’t be ashamed of your mama singing too. But, again, that’s just MY opinion, and not worth much more than this empty spot I’m typing on. I gotta give them this though…it takes a certain amount of talent to convince people to buy their music. So either they’re really good salesmen, or I need to be selling hearing aids instead of Avon. <
