There is nothing Biblical about confessing your sins to a priest.
The Bible says there is one mediator between man and God, and that is Jesus Christ.
Going to Heaven is based upon repentance and acceptance…..
Repenting of your sins and self-centered way of living
and
Accepting God’s Salvation, Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.
If you have truly done that, as evident by a new spiritual life and the witness of the Holy Spirit in your life, then you will go to heaven according to God’s Word.

Eternal Happiness—In Heaven or on Earth?
DOES your happiness depend primarily on where you live? Most people would readily acknowledge that happiness depends more on factors like good health, a purpose in life, and fine relationships with others. A Bible proverb puts it this way: “Better is a dish of vegetables where there is love than a manger-fed bull and hatred along with it.”—Proverbs 15:17.
Sadly, however, our earthly home has a long history of hatred, violence, and other forms of wickedness. But what about heaven, or the spirit realm, where many people hope to go after they die? Has it always been a place of blissful peace and tranquillity, without disturbance of any kind, as is commonly supposed?
The Bible teaches that God resides in heaven along with millions of spirit creatures called angels. (Matthew 18:10; Revelation 5:11) These are described as spirit “sons of God.” (Job 38:4, 7) Like humans, the angels also have free moral agency; they are not robots. It follows, therefore, that they too can choose to do right or to do wrong. Would angels choose to do wrong? It may come as a surprise to some to learn that thousands of years ago, a considerable number of angels did, in fact, sin against God—they rebelled against him!—Jude 6.
Why Some Do Go to Heaven
Many readers of the Bible, however, are aware of Jesus’ words: “In the house of my Father there are many abodes. . . . I am going my way to prepare a place for you.” (John 14:2, 3) Does this not contradict the idea of life everlasting on a paradise earth?
These teachings are not contradictory. In fact, one supports the other. To begin with, the Bible states that only a limited number of faithful Christians—namely, 144,000 of them—are raised as spirit creatures to live in heaven. Why are they given this wonderful reward? Because they make up the group that John saw in a vision who “came to life and ruled as kings with the Christ for a thousand years.” (Revelation 14:1, 3; 20:4-6) Compared with the billions on earth, the 144,000 truly are a “little flock.” (Luke 12:32) Moreover, having experienced the problems common to humankind, like Jesus they will be able to “sympathize with our weaknesses” as they supervise the rehabilitation of mankind and of the earth.—Hebrews 4:15.
Earth—Mankind’s Eternal Home
By providing the ransom sacrifice of Jesus Christ, God began gathering the 144,000 almost 2,000 years ago, and indications are that this group is now complete. (Acts 2:1-4; Galatians 4:4-7) However, Jesus’ sacrifice was not for the sins of the 144,000 only, “but also for the whole world’s.” (1 John 2:2) Hence, all who exercise faith in Jesus have the prospect of eternal life. (John 3:16) Those asleep in the grave but who are in God’s memory will be resurrected, not to heaven, but to life on a cleansed earth. (Ecclesiastes 9:5; John 11:11-13, 25; Acts 24:15) What will await them there?
Revelation 21:1-4 answers, saying: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind . . . And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Imagine—humans being released from death, and the pain and outcry it causes gone forever! At last, Jehovah’s original purpose for the earth and humankind will reach its glorious fulfillment.—Genesis 1:27, 28.
Answer by Frederick LWell, look at at the origin of sin. Where did Adam go when he died? The
Bible shows that Adam did not confess his sin, nor Eve before they died.
Where did Almighty God Jehovah (the LORD) tell him he was going if he
did disobey?
The Bible says that the wages of sin is death, not eternal punishment
which is a borrowed adopted view from Egyptian mythology the Greeks
picked up and that the Romans when combined Chrisitianity into emporer
worship producing Catholicism now today is all throughout all churches.
Lastly, The Bible also tells you that he or she that dies has been acquitted of their sin. Jesus himself said he would become a sin
offering in our place and that he would be dead, die in our place. Is
Adam somewhere in eternal flames? Why people always think of him
when it comes to how sin came into the world but neither him or Eve
being Hell’s oldest inmates? The Bible never said Satan is there! Confession is to be to the one you sinned against and if the person
doesn’t accept then the Bible says to take 2 or 3 others which are the
Elders.
In fact, confession to priest is arranged by the Church with a psychological perception about human mind. There are people who have committed sins and carry them in their mind with guilt feeling through out life. Confession is a way out for them to open up to the representative of God and handover the sins to him. He will further hand it over to Jesus and thereby relieving the sinner. But if you have the mental ability to trust the Lord fully and seek repentance from him directly and get freed from guilt feeling, confession to priest is not mandatory. A normal prayer of forgiveness by laying hands on your head by priest shall be enough. But make sure that, you get remission of sins through the body and blood of Jesus, which is deliverd through Holy Mass.Answer by Kelly
you dont have to confess to a preist anymore. all u have to do to be saved is believe that jesus was the son of god and that he died for ur sins. just ask him to forgive u and he takes it from there. john 3:16.Answer by venus_smrf
The Bible has never said anything at all about confession. When we bring our sins to a priest or pastor or bishop or whatever our religions have, we should only do so because we’ve recognized that we’ve gone against God and wish to repent and change. The priest is there to help us with that, but simply telling him of our sins does not automatically mean we’ve been forgiven, because of course only God and Christ have the power to forgive. The priest does not and should not, which also means that confession without repentance and change means nothing. After all, how many people do you know who go out and sin over the weekend, then confess on a Sunday with the full intention of committing those same sins the very next weekend? That is not repentance by any definition.
Humiliation over a sin is also not enough. When I was a child, I stole a toy from my best friend’s house. My mother found out and made me apologize, and I was absolutely humiliated. Still, even as I was apologizing, I still coveted that toy and only wished I’d been more subtle. I didn’t recognize that what I’d done was wrong at all, and the same goes with anyone who gets “caught” but is only worried about the consequences. To repent and thus be forgiven, we actually have to realize why our mistake was a mistake, and then do whatever we can to make it right and change our behavior and desires. We have to turn back to God, because only then can we truly be forgiven for what we’ve done.
I’m not saying that you shouldn’t confess, because again, the priests or whatever are there to help us work through the repentance process. I’m only saying that confession itself isn’t important unless we’re actively trying to repent. A person who confesses but doesn’t try to change isn’t going to be forgiven any more than a person who doesn’t do anything at all as far as repentance goes. If, on the other hand, you’re truly regretful and have done what you can to change, that’s all God needs from you.
Answer by roaringlamb04It’s not a matter of confessing to a priest. There is only one Mediator between God and man and that is Jesus Christ. What you need to know the Gospel. This is what the Bible says about the things you’re concerned about:
The gospel is the good news of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ that provides full and free deliverance from the power and penalty of sin according to the grace of God alone through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Why is this such wonderful news?
You and everyone else have been born with a fatal condition. This condition is called sin. Why is this condition so serious? Because God is sinless and hates sin, for sin is rebellion against His perfect and righteous standard. And your sinful actions makes you an enemy of God (Romans 3:23; James 4:4). God made man imperishable, in His own image (Genesis 1:27). He made man so that he may have continual fellowship with Him. But when sin came, the intimate fellowship between man and God changed.
According to Genesis 3, humanity became separated from God when Adam and Eve disobeyed Him and ate the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, the tree from which God had forbidden them to eat. Humanity became separated from God because all people are descended from Adam. As a result, the sinful nature Adam acquired through his disobedience was passed down to all people, including you. Because of this inherited sin nature everyone sins. It comes naturally. It is part of the fabric of being human. Adam’s sin placed you apart from God and under His condemnation (Romans 5:12; 1 Corinthians 15:22). The effect of sin on you is that it extends to every part of your personality — your thinking, your emotions, and your will. This does not mean that you are as evil as you can be, but it does mean that sin has extended to your entire being. The lost person is dead in his sins. All are sinners and cannot do anything to save themselves. Without the sovereign, regenerating power of the Holy Spirit, such a person is blind and deaf to the message of the gospel (Romans 8:7-8; 1 Corinthians 2:14), and is totally unable and unwilling to accept salvation through Jesus Christ alone.
Many continually try to end the separation between themselves and God by their own efforts. They live “a good life”, or are religious, or adhere to a particular ethical philosophy. But these attempts at reaching God are futile, and fall infinitely short. They are all tainted with sin. Sin is a cancer that infects all. And you either get the cancer, or the cancer will get you!
But there is hope! There is an antidote to sin and its deadly effects. As John 3:16 states, God loved fallen humanity so much that He sent His only Son to redeem sinners like you. Also, God demonstrated His own love toward sinners in that while they were yet in the depths of sin and rebellion against Him, Christ died for them (Romans 5:8). Jesus bridged the gap by His atoning death on the cross and ended the separation. Jesus is special because He is God in the flesh and was born of a virgin by the Holy Spirit. He was not born of Adam’s seed as all other human beings are, and so therefore did not inherit a sinful nature. He did not have the tendency to sin as we all do. The Bible teaches that the payment for sin is death (Romans 6:23). It also teaches that without the shedding of blood there can be no forgiveness of sin (Hebrews 9:22).
In the Old Testament, God forbade sacrifice of spotted, deformed, and sickly animals (Deuteronomy 15:21; Malachi 1:7-14). He did this because a spotted, sickly, or deformed animal could not be a perfect sacrifice to pay for sin. Only a clean, healthy lamb without spot or blemish could be sacrificed. The lambs offered as the payment for sin in the Old Testament pointed forward to the time when Jesus Christ, the perfect, unblemished Lamb of God, would take the place of sinners and take upon Himself the just punishment for all their sins. As in New Testament times, people living in the Old Testament period were saved by faith (Habakkuk 2:4). They looked forward to a perfect Savior who would cleanse from sin and establish righteousness.
The good news that Jesus Christ commissioned His apostles to preach was His death on the cross for sinners and His resurrection from the dead (an historical event that provided immutable proof of His deity and the truth of His teachings, especially those regarding Himself being the only way to salvation). This good news, or gospel, is called “the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16). The apostles taught that salvation is by the grace of God alone through faith in Jesus Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:4-7; Romans 4:3-5, 10:5-13). They were uncompromising in this message, and condemned all attempts by others to add anything to it. The Apostle Paul taught that belief in any other gospel that was a “different gospel” brought the condemnation of God rather than salvation (Galatians 1
