I don’t think a robbery charge would stick, since you can always claim you were recovering the goods for the police to sell and doing a citizens arrest.

Pretty funny way would be gassing with a can of CS then putting the dealers fingers onto the can, as a defence in court lol.

Considering that if you try to rob a drug dealer, he is probably carrying a weapon.

You would get charged with robbery. If you had a weapon armed robbery in the 1st degree. Unfortunately yes it would stick. Not to mention the backlash from the dealer himself. They have a tendency to be a bit vengeful.
As for the citizens arrest, its not an arrest if you steal from them. Citizens arrest doesn’t include recovery. In most places you must be certified for a citizens arrest now. You can’t just walk up to a random dealer and decide you are going to take them to jail.

If you were successful and caught with the drugs and money you would be charged as a drug dealer. Possession with the intent to distribute. You could claim all you want that you were doing it to get the drugs off the streets, but as far as the police are concerned, you have the drugs and the money and cant prove your story. A dealer isn’t likely to report theft of drugs as it would be the same as admitting to possession with intent to distribute. The dealer would very likely be doing his best to find out who you are and to get revenge.

yeah you can definitely get charged for robbery, but for some odd reason I really don’t see a drug dealer reporting you for stealing his stuff.
