: What college should I go to if I want a military career?
I am a guy, and sophomore in high school right now. I have decent grades as of now. Which college should i consider on the east coast( I live in NC,but willing to go anywhere on the East coast. NC, NY, PENN preferably). I want to join the marines or navy with a military career so I would be looking for a college with NROTC. If you can, tell me the easiest and hardest colleges to get into so I can set my limits. Thanks!

how about US Naval Academy?
There’s probably a website to tell you which schools have NROTC programs…
Answer by MichaelaThe United States Naval Academy (also known as USNA, Annapolis, or Navy) is a four-year coeducational federal service academy located in Annapolis, Maryland, United States. Established in 1845 under George Bancroft, it is the second-oldest of the United States’ five service academies, and educates officers for commissioning primarily into the United States Navy and Marine Corps. The 338-acre (137 ha) campus is located on the former grounds of Fort Severn at the confluence of the Severn River and Chesapeake Bay, approximately 33 miles (53 km) east of Washington, D.C. and 26 miles (42 km) southeast of Baltimore, Maryland. The entire campus is a National Historic Landmark and home to many historic sites, buildings, and monuments.
Candidates for admission must both apply directly to the academy and receive a nomination, usually from a congressman. Students are officers-in-training and are referred to as Midshipmen. Tuition for Midshipmen is fully funded by the Navy in exchange for an active duty service obligation upon graduation. Approximately 1,300 “plebes” enter the Academy each summer for the rigorous Plebe Summer, but only about 1,000 Midshipmen graduate. Graduates are usually commissioned as ensigns in the Navy or Second Lieutenants in the Marine Corps, and occasionally as officers in the US Air Force, US Army, and U.S. Coast Guard. The academic program grants a bachelor of science degree with a curriculum that grades Midshipmen’s performance upon a broad academic program, military leadership performance, and mandatory participation in competitive athletics. Midshipmen are required to adhere to the Academy’s Honor Concept.Answer by AJ
It really doesn’t matter. All you need is a Bachelor’s degree. It could be in basketweaving. The type of degree is irrelevant.Answer by wraeth
I would recommend the Citadel in S. Carolina. They are a smaller school but the best officers I have ever worked with came out of there.Answer by Hat
Any college that has an NROTC program.
Naval Academy would be the best.
The rest is irrelevant for the military. A degree from Harvard, isn’t really going to get you much further in the military than a degree from Hillbilly State University.
Answer by Section 2 Wrestlingthe citadel, vmi, unc, nc state, virginia university, virginia tech, penn state, penn u, any of the ivy league schools, suny schools, georgia university, all the junior military collges(can get you commisioned in 2 years, but your 1st 2 years will be in reserves) 🙂 best of luck, personally i suggest federal service academies but thats just me
