What career or educational opportunities exist for non violent ex con in Cleveland, Ohio? I have a friend who is a first-time, non-violent drug offender, conviction over 15 years ago. But he can’t get a job because of background checks. Do any of you know of any resources for ex cons? Do you know of anybody hiring ex cons, or providing free job training or educational resources?

Free training? You can check with your local community college for prices on different trade job trainings. Try calling the local probation and parole office. They may have ideas.
