Kimberly: What are these red dry skin patches on my sons cheecks?
My son is 1 year 8 months old.
He is very healthy and active.
He has a small/medium patch on each side of his cheecks that are circluar, red, and hardish dry skin. It looks as if he is blushing, however, it is dry skin.
Does anyone know what this could be? The cold? Hormones? Dry skin.
Any remedies?
Thanks!

It’s crucial to eat good to remain healthy. Colon cleanse is an awesome suplement which keeps you healthy and in addition has the bonus of helping you to lose lots of weight. There’s a free trial on currently at , try it, what is the worst that could happen?
it could be any thing. is he feeling well?
if he is that is a good sign, but i would suggest to show it to the doctor asap.
im also wondering how the skin of a 1 year old has got so bad that quickly with out any attention towards it before, does your one year old spend lots of time out in the cold? and do you take care of his skin at least twice a day ‘properly’ as part of his daily regimens?
Answer by zitdr_02With that age group and that description, you are most likely dealing with atopic eczema. Why not point it out to your pediatrician the next office visit. If that’s what it is, it’s a genetic disorder, and he may have to deal with it on and off for quite a long time. In addition, it might be a marker of asthma or hay fever in him or the family tree.Answer by Ravenwing

It could be very dry skin because of the weather.
Also what about an allergy ? Have you added anything new to his diet lately ?
Or changed brands, soaps etc. Keep a mental note about that.
I’d also bring up ring worm? It seems strange they would be on both cheeks, but it is characteristic of what you describe.
Slapped cheek (5th disease) is a virus and mild cold symptoms followed by what looks like you slapped his cheeks, generally a lacy rash is on their trunk (torso) too.
Best bet. Bring it up at the well exam or call for peace of mind.
Try a humidifier in the house
pure and natural soaps
It sounds like eczema- my son had it too. I started a soap company because commercial soaps remove the glycerin for lotion as well as adding excess preservatives, drying out the skin. When I realized how much better handmade natural soap worked, I decided to spread the word through the product. Calendula is an herb with natural healing properties for eczema, and shea butter, honey and oats work quite well. The calendula rejuvenates the skin as the oats exfoliate and the shea and honey moisturize.
