Christopher H: What are the most common vacations dates for US employees?
I am interested in extended vacations (3 days to multiple weeks). My assumption that May/June/July would be the easy leader here, but can’t find evidence.

Most Americans get 2 to 3 weeks of vacation per year. Most take their vacations during June, July, and August because that is when school is out in the USA. Some take vacation around Christmas/New Year because most schools are out for about 2 weeks at that time.
Americans who are not students and don’t have children in school are less predictable.

people with school-age children usually coordinate vacations with school schedules. Schedules vary widely, but in general – –
– the summer vacation is usually from mid-June through the end of August
– there is a Christmas vacation that starts a day or two before Christmas and extends to about January 2 (or the next Monday, if the 2nd falls on Friday, Saturday or Sunday).
– in many areas, especially in the northern parts of the country, there is a week-long winter break in mid-February, and a second school vacation week in April. The exact timing of these vary widely.
People without children have more flexibility, and there really are no hard rules governing when they choose vacations. It may have a lot to do with what they choose to do one the vacation.
