Jess: How should I handle going on vacation with my fiancee?
My fiancee and I have been engaged for a few months, and this July we want to spend time out west together. CA, CO, etc…Grand Canyon especially
Our relationship is a secret as of now, for good reason, and she suggested we take a month for our vacation. Problem is that certain people, our mothers especially, have begun to question the nature of our relationship. We don’t to come out, if ever, until next year…for good reason.
Any advice on what to tell our families who can’t understand why we are going away for a month just the two of us?

Why not just tell your mom’s that you want to do the Oprah & Gayle road trip thing but for a month.
What could be more innocent than that? Just two friends who want to travel & see this great country of ours, while they can & are still young & not settled down.

Friends take trips and travel together all the time, so I’m not sure what the issue is. Are you saying that your parents will think the two of you are “together” just because you take this trip?
