Lyric: Where do Australians take their tropical vacations?
I’ve never been to Australia but I’m moving to Sydney soon. In the US we take our tropical vacations to the Caribbean and Hawaii typically. Where do Australians vacation? I’m assuming Fiji and islands close to the continent?

Bali (Indonesia)
Thailand
Malaysia
Singapore
Fiji
Vanuatu
Many holiday somewhere warmer in Australia, or they go to Fiji, Bali, Thailand, New Zealand, as you suggested, somewhere close to us in the Pacific. When you move to Sydney, have a look at a map and go see Jervis Bay south of you, and Byron Bay north of Sydney or Coffs Harbour. Beautiful, you can drive there taking a day and stopping to eat and wander. You can also get really cheap flights to Japan from Australia’s east coast, that would be a fun and interesting holiday.Answer by Iskandar
As with the first answer, we also have the Whitsunday islands in northern Queensland.Answer by Mel
Many people will go up to Queensland, its a lot cheaper and good for the kids.
Off shore we favor Bali, Thailand, Fiji and also Hawaii.
A lot of people head to the UK or Europe as well.
Answer by zafirFar North Queensland including Cairns and the Barrier Reef islands is very popular, and so is Broome in Western Australia. Also:
Cook Islands
Vanuatu
Fiji
Bali
Thailand
Singapore
But most of these places are better for winter holidays ie June to September. In the summer it’s just too hot in the tropics and it’s also cylcone season.
Answer by Future Eagles Mummy!!Anywhere in Indonesia used to be very popular with us Western Australians – though at the moment i would definitely steer clear of bali. We also love Thailand (many gorgeous islands to stay on), Hong kong & Singapore.
When I lived on the East Coast, there are loads of Pacific islands to choose from & my sister went to Samoa which they loved. Then there is Fiji, Vanuatu and the surrounds and not forgetting our own Aussie islands of the Whitsundays. Trust me, you will not be hard pressed to find somewhere to go for a holiday!

o.k depends if you want to go to another country,
our closest neighbouring continent is Asia. so there are lots of nice places there, i just got back from the philippines and went to some of there island, i am going back in about 2 months. the trip from sydney to manila should be about 8-9 hours flight, from brisbane where i went was seven and a half hours flight time.
nice places in asia are thailand, philippines, malaysia, singapore, Denpasar(Bali), Indonesia.
you could go also go to tropical pacific islands such as tonga, vanuatu, cook islands, solomon islands and fiji.
if you are wanting an Australian place to go to, the whitsundays in North Qld is a very nice place. it is situated on the largest reef in the world, the great barrier reef.
or anywhere from around gladstone to north you will find nice reefs.
Defiantly Bali/Indonesia, most West Australia’s have all been there. Especially seeing as Perth is closer to Jakarta then it is to Sydney.
